Congratulations netbuzzr :P
But be prepared guys. I was absent in the last days so in the next time videos and pictures will follow :)
My private opinion about Esprimo Q1510 is quite positive. So far I was wathing a lot of Hi-Res videos a lots of them on Youtube. My personal favorite is remote controller. I like to sit on couch and watch pictures and movies. What I’m missing is track ball to handle mouse pointer.
Device looks very elegant and fits to my living room. I did not test Esprimo for entertainment yet but will do it soon and you will see results of those tests. Device is really tiny which is good, as I wrote I’m missing TV card a lot, for me it would be big improvement.
My name is still typed wrong, could it be fixed please? :D
I'm going to make a little gaming test today, gonna install Civilization IV and try how it runs on Esprimo. Report coming in later today.
Here's a little list of games I think will run well on Esprimo:
1. Civilization series
2. Heroes of Might and Magic series
3. Settlers series
4. All the flash games
So there are plenty of choices for gamers also :)
I already tested Call of Duty: Modern Warfare!
Later I will make a video of its performance which is acutally pretty good for this small device :)
I already tested Counter-Strike Source:

I wrote a new artivel about what is possible in reference to technical improvement for Mini PCs like the Esprimo

In my new video i show you how to have fun playing a very old game with the Esprimo

Next Video shows SNES on my Esprimo.
Wow, thats fun!

And last but not least, playing my beloved N64 on the Esprimo. It's like a allround gaming console. Only smaller ;-)

I made some pictures.
This one shows how to replace battery in mouse.
This one shows the remote control
And this one the keyboard
Shot from our living room. ESPRIMO Q1510 does a good job and hides from view almost completely. This also shows how much equipment it can replace. From this, we could remove the old XBOX that we have used to stream movies, the Western Digital WD TV Live that also served the same purpose and naturally the DVD player can be thrown out. Perhaps even the Xbox360 too as we don't play that much with it any more. ;)
Here you can see some of the major components that make up the Q1510 motherboard/system.
This is the welcome screen of Media Center :)
Oh what's that? CyberLink support in Media Center :) very nice!
I love the HDMI-Connection to my HD-TV!
The Esprimo Q1510 has a lot of serial interfaces... I never thought that a so called miniPC does have so many like the Q.
This is how I follow up the keynote from Steve Jobs presenting the new iPhone yesterday. Great Esprimo keep me up2date - on the couch.
This is how u setup the wireless mouse. Very easy to handle!
My next Report.
Bluetoothfunction.

If you wouldn't know that this is a mini PC you could think it's a tiny gaming console
It's really mini. Looks like the small brother of my XBox 360 and PS3.
That are my favorite designs. If i can keep my Esprimo, it will be a hard decision ;-)
Wow, all you guys are so lucky to have received your Esprimo to play with, I still have not received mine, and when it came for delivery today I was asked to pay about €372 just to receive the package, has anyone else paid to received their Esprimo?
Two ideas, one solution: First point: Sometimes I need a little kick in the butt to keep myself active.
Second points: I want to point the readers on my blog to the esprimo-articles i write in these days. So here is the solution - another header and a new widget. Easy to find for my readers AND for myself ;)
This is how i try to kill two birds with one stone ;)
You asked for my opinion about the "little Q" so i can tell it to you in just one short phrase: I'm really overwhelmed :)
First I thought of never wanting such a small device - not even for my living room. But some days of testing the Q1510 changed my mind :)
I don't miss a tv-card too badly, because i will be going to buy a tv-stick if the esprimo will find his home in here. My number one-feature of my first test-days until now: Watching Blu-Rays of course - and watching hd-content on youtube. It's so awesome to lie comfortably on the couch and start the discs with the remote control. it's really the first time, that the windows media center makes sense to me ;)
a little story of one of these tech-blog-guys, a little esprimo and a big new tv and how they all met in my living room, preparing for the fifa world cup in south africa ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4mX0g5Foxc
So, I installed the Civilization IV + Warlods + Beyond The Sword add-ons and then tried to start the game.
When starting the game, Windows says something about changing theme from Aero to Windows Basic so that the would game works correctly.
Secondly, an error message pops up and the process is terminated. No Civilization IV for me then!
I'm not quite sure what caused the error but maybe it has something to do with the Intel graphics chip?
Sweet cute dongle :)
And it's soo small, you can use it even for your laptop!
@RobertGrinde: We checked this with DHL and unfortunately your assumption was right. There had been some tax added in your case, which should not be the case. Of course we will pay for this costs! Did they tell you where the package is storaged or better: Is it possible for you to get the package back?
As i mentioned in another comment, a lcd-display would like nice, i made a concept of it. Tell me if you like it.
And a second concept, that i have created. Maybe the buttons could be more flat and with blue light, but imho the idea is not bad, or?
I know you wrote it before (and we had this diskussion already) - no change of the rules. So the only way to keep the ESPRIMO (and i really like it) is not to produce content with quality but quantity. Ok, now I will do that too.
The idea doesn't look that bad at first.
But if you think about it it's very hard to find real usage for that!
Usually the ESPRIMO is placed somewhere with the TV. So you have to stand up and go to the ESPRIMO to use it.
The other point is that the energy usage of this panel would be big. This may annoy users and is of course important for "Green-IT". ;)
Ooops, added the wrong picture, wanted to use this one. (would be great to edit comments)
@Stefanosswald:
Verena already ended this discussion with reasons.
Editing comments would end with the problem that posts may not be valid anymore after your edited it...
today was time to check out some games on the esprimo :)
@JuusoPalander - i tried installing an old simpsons-game. "hit and run" is from 2003 and is running on the esprimo without a single prob :)
Here a clip from the intro :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL6DZKdGJPs
Even older than the simpsons-game: one of the greatest classics - diabloII
so awesome to see it this huge :)
and guess, how my first hero is called ;)
i also tried out farm- and fishville. little silly games that steal too much of my time - but what can i do? i am addicted ;)
In the pic u can see fishville. and because it's a little small even on such a huge tv, when you are sitting three metres away i tried a little trick: i just use the zoom-function of my browser to make the window bigger - and now i can take care of my farm and my fish while lying on the couch ;)
woohoo - three hours to go until i have to get up ;)
so - last entry for tonight:
i just wrote a blog-posting (german) to tell about my first gaming-experiences with the esprimo:
http://www.zweipunktnull.org/blog/2010/06/09/zocken-auf-dem-esprimo-q1510/
I gave an overview of gaming on the Esprimo in a new blogpost:

A short view from the device Manager

My design for the Esprimo design challenge :)
The panther represents speed and agility. It's ready to strike just before the sunrise.
Complicated chemical structures of technology combined to nature's best properties makes a perfect combination called Little E.
And speaking about the design, here's a little blog post on that, comparing Q1510 to Mac Mini.
Episode 11: Jeans and T-shirt?
http://juusopalander.com/blog/episode-11-jeans-and-t-shirt/
I compiled a small list of freeware programs I would pre-install, or at least download for later use, to Q1510:
-Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox browser
-IrfanView picture manager
-Adobe Reader
-Flash Player for browsers
-Java Environment package
-All the latest drivers
-VLC player for videos
You’re going to need the most of them for sure in the first day or two so why not to install them before starting at all? :)
@JUUSO / JUSO?
- Browser: As you maybe remeber there was / is a big fight between Microsoft and the EU because of the browsers. Fujitsu shouldn't pre-install more browsers than windows does. ;)
- IrfanView: Not every person uses this software (for example me) ;)
- Adobe Reader: If Fujitsu gets a license they could pre-install it.
- Java: As already mentioned it's all about the license
- Flash player: NO! People should download it themselves because then they always install the newest version. :P
- Latest drivers: Afair all drivers were already included.
- VLC: Nice idea but many people prefer other software so that everbody wants something other.
The list is very nice but not very suitable for all users. ;)
Thanks for comment Abas, and it's Juuso with two U's :)
That's why there's "I would" because they're my personal preferences.
Another solution could a program, AutoUpdate software where Fujitsu could add RSS feeds for different programs that are willing to let Fujitsu computer users to download their latest software. That way there could be a variety of choices for every user.
A program like that is already available for drivers but not for other freeware software yet. I wonder who could code that for me :) I'd love it!
Alright Juuso (:P):
The idea with the AutoUpdater sounds great but there is still the question if the majority needs those applications. ;)
Usually people are disturbed by pre-installed software because for them it looks like advertisement and not like a feature.
This is why pre-installation of software is almost "dangerous" for the image. :P
But Fujitsu could provide a website with an overview:
People can suggest new software. They can comment it and rate them. This would be really nice. :)
Stay tuned and don't miss the FIFA worldcup 2010! I think this event will blowing us away. But I feel very save while watching the games in my livingroom with the help of my Esprimo Q1510. Even the biggest german newspaper loves the little Q ;)
@farbensport - haha, nice one ;) this one seems to mark the birth of the "Volks-Esprimo" ;)
@Juuso - great choices :)
but i don't want to have the adobe reader pre-installed on my device. i prefer the foxit reader pretty much. it's so small and fast - and not worse than the adobe reader :)
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/
@casi: that's exactly what i thought ^^
I compare the Esprimo Q1510 with a good book. His size makes a good reading. Perfect for a dramatically and exciting matter.
This must be the so called "golden ratio". A perfect relation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio
As I wrote before, I had some trouble getting the little "Q" but it was worth the wait! It is truly small and silent.I will take some comparison shots of the Esprimo next to my other HTPC soon :D Here you can see my Esprimo all set-up.
The Esprimo is so small! Here you can see it beside my custom built HTPC.
I see a lot of you have installed games on your Esprimos, I just installed The Sims 3 for my sister as I am not the biggest game fan myself, but she loves it!
I installed Sim City and it worked well.
And now checking out Surpreme Commander
@netbuzzr Cool, I only have some old games laying around but my sister is really eager on trying them all out on the little"Q" I have to say that games were not the first thing I was thinking about using the Esprimo for, but playing computer games on a 46" screen rather than a 24" monitor is really nice!
Hey look.
The postman brought me a package today
Hey there was an Camera in it!
Yeah my brand new Canon Ixus 130 arrived today.
Thank you again!
