I think the Esprimo looks pretty cool on the top of my home entertainment system.

I am so amazed how quiet the Esprimo is. So i tried to exhaust the Esprimo by letting it calculate the factorial of 100k (100.000!). After only some seconds the test was over with an overflow, like i expected. Only 3 cores where used with ~25% usage. Amazing!!!
The ventilator wasn´t getting faster or louder. Not even after hours of using the Esprimo.
On my Centrino Duo Notebook the test took about 2 minutes and the ventilator rotates faster an blowed out hot air. One Point for the Esprimo!
Today I decided to watch a BluRay with the Esprimo. Avatar was really Fun with it. Good Quality in Video and Sound.

Caused by a business trip, I had to wait until yesterday to unbox the cute little Esprimo. But therefore I've celebrated it with a short stop-motion movie.

I've just opened a door to the next stage of Esprimo adventure. Behind them stood Santa Claus disguised as a UPS delivery man. He was kind enough to bring me this fine piece of equipment. I thanked him in a short and modest way, and went straight for the package...
On my way to the treasure stood a monster of a fluffy kind. The beast stared at my and felt my fear.
- You shall not pass!!! - hissed this monstrosity and bared his razor sharp claws.
I threw my shield, and took my sword. Attacked the box without a thought. My strike, well aimed, made beast look stunned, but it kept looking in side my mind.
- The treasure is your's and keep your soul. But you must pay me the greatest toll.
The battle was over, the treasure was mine. But the chest was lost and will never be found.
Cause in the chest fluffy evil lurks now. And when you get close it makes sounds: RRRRAAAAAUUUU!!!

I've just taken off the protection foil. The first thing I've noticed are the materials and QWERTZU keyboard layout.
Glossy plastic used in the keyboard is perfect for fingerprinting. CSI should use this kind of material for storing fingerprint in their databases ;) Good thing there is a cloth in the package. Esprimo Q1510 itself is better in this matter. Not so glossy therefore not so dirty. But still - it will gather loads of dust, hair etc.
The keyboard itself is beautifully designed but I can't say anything good about the QWERTZU layout :) I know that for many bloggers in here it's a standard but in Poland "kezboard" is hard to get just to. We use standard QWERTY keys layout.
The sun is down, the batteries are getting low and I'm getting tired as well so I'm logging out for today. Tomorrow - first impressions on www.HDTVmania.pl and much more... ;)

Grabbin' the Fujitsu Esprimo Q1510. It's so handy!
I like the clean back of my Fujitsu Esprimo Q1510. And I was really surprised about the 6 USB ports! That's enough to plugin what you need.

Starting Windows for the first time on a plasma tv - looks and feels great!
How long did you see this guy? If got about 10 Minutes with him. I've tried to get in the same pose like him, but it did not speed up the process.
Setup the Esprimo and find out what else can be improved for a better customer experience. I hope good critics helps you to improve the little Entertainer - and you don't get mad with me ;)

It's kinda silly but I didn't realize until now that On/Off switch in Fujitsu Esprimo Q1510 is cool as cucumber! It's not a physical switch but a variation of a touch one. You just put you finger next to it for a moment, and Esprimo turns on.
I wonder how does it effect the standby mode power consumption? Esprimo is excellent in that matter (only 19 watts in the idle mode) but still one wonders...

I noticed there are some must-have things that make the experience much better.

One thing that surprised me was the smallness of the device. Its size is approx 1/4 of my Playstation 3. And as you can see from the picture above, Little E deserves his name :)

One feature that I relly liked was the ability to partition the Esprimo. This allows you to split the disk and have the OS on one partition and all your files on another partition.
Also, during the installation this guy should be replaced after a while... How about some rotating images with tips on how to make good use of your Esprimo instead?
Not the most advanced loading bar in the world. Some eye-catching fancy graphics would help during the 10 or so minutes of installation.
First I did not notice the remote extension cable. Since the Esprimo is packed together in such a small case the USB port and the HDMI port are a bit to close together to make the remotecontrol receiver fit. Luckily with the USB extension cable it fits great, and you get better reception because you can move the receiver to a better position.
The Bios/Boot logo. Any chance to customize it? I know it's a lot to ask but it would be cool to create your own Bios logo, some motherboards allow you to do this.
This is the standard background image when you start up the Esprimo for the first time, again not hard to guess who that created this tiny HTPC :D
Yes, the ability to split the giant harddisk into more partition was a thing that makes me glad to, because i use to split my harddisk on every device i have. So there is on partition for the operating system and drivers etc. Then i have on partition for programes. In the past i used to make one partition for games too, but now i play only on Xbox and playstation.
Then i make one partition for movies and pictures and one partition at least for all other stuff, that does not fit anywhere else.
Normally you have to split the harddisc during the install of the operating system. The chance to split it afterwards is really cool.
@RobertGrinde : I had that problem to. My USB Sticks are a little bit bigger than normally and so i had the problem to push them all together in the Esprimo. But fortunately there are 6 ports on the Esprimo, so there should be even one free port anywhere ;-)
But i have this problem on my vaio notebook too. The USB ports there, are even too close together so that i have problem to put 2 usb sticks together in the device. Maybe a bigger clearance between the usb ports would be suggestive. I didn't realize the extension cable...
Waiting at the first start is a little bit annoying, because the progressbar didn't seem to move forward. Maybe some pictures showing the options of the Esprimo would be nice and not so boring ;-)
When the esprimo arrived I was surprised about the size of the package. I thought that a miniPC is small ;)
But then I opened the box an found lot of empty space and safety bags to protect this little wonder of technique. Lots og hardware in one small case, Blu-Ray, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 6 x USB, Blue-Tooth, W-LAN,...
At first I plugged in all the necessary things like monitor, keyboard, mouse. The first boot took a little longer because of the Win7 setup. I didn't know that there is W-LAN onbaord until Win7 wanted to connect ;)
So I was "in love" since the first boot!

To get the most out of my ESPRIMO I installed TuneUp Utilities and started it.
To increase the speed when starting my ESPRIMO I choose the following options:

After the restart I continued optimizing the performance. Therefore I "configured" my ESPRIMO.

For the benchmark test I used MetaBench (Beta) and SiSoftware SANDRA LITE. Both are freeware and i use two several programms so everybody can compare the results.
Let's start with the results of MetaBench.
Here is part two of the benchmark test.
Now I started SiSoftware SANDRA LITE to test the on board graphic card. The results shows that the ESPRIMO is not for gaming.
But when we look at the CPU, the ESPRIMO has a verry good performance. #1

I just did it the same way somo others gained their points. That's it. I don't wanted to do that, but i like the ESPRIMO very much and want to keep it. At the beginning I had great Ideas about some quality tests - but with quality you can't keep the ESPRIMO, but quantity.
