@Robert: We are looking forward to read the first testreport of your new device that makes your Living Room to One Living Room. :-)
Have fun with your new monitor.
Your input left a great impression! Rajat Kakar, Vice President of Fujitsu, wants to thank you personally for your great support during the One Living Room project and left this message for you!
" We like to thank you for your great support during the last three weeks. We are really overwhelmed about your feedback, your suggestions of improvement and your creative skills in testing the ESPRIMO Q1510. The project "One Living Room" showed us, that it is worth listening to the Insiders out there! :-)
We already discussed your suggestions and ideas with our product development team, who are curious about your opinion! We hope that you all had fun in this project and we will listen, read or hear from you in future! "
Cornelia Kühling (Product Manager ESPRIMO Q) and Daniel Klaus (Marketing Manager)
This is the final task. What would you do if you get your ESPRIMO! Thanks again to One Living Room Insider Szymon, who is responsible for this creative input!
PLEASE NOTE: WE ONLY COUNT 10 PHOTOS FOR EACH ONE LIVING ROOM INSIDER!
Please complete the sentence.... If you have to express it in one single sentence.
Tell us: The ESPRIMO is...
... my new best friend in my Living Room.
... the device that keeps my wife busy.
... the home-entertainer that makes my couch to my new working place.
We will stop counting the points tomorrow at 12pm!
We are amazed! It seems like our One Living Room Insiders are not "just" Home Entertaining-Profis, but also very creative and talented in graphic design. We received more than 200 different designs for our ESPRIMO-Skin. Here are the official participants for the One Living Room Patchwork-Design. Please remember: We had to choose between the 44 designs, we recieved by e-mail (as requested):
JuusoPalander
AbaS

Thank you so much for your amazing art work!
We will send the Skins to the 11 designers, and hope that you are all part of the Top10, so that your ESPRIMO will become fully "One Living Room"-branded. :-)
The Esprimo Q1510 is a compact mini PC that can already be used well as a media center supporting Blu-ray and Windows 7! You were able to put the ESPRIMO to the acid test during the last two weeks- that's why we want to know your insights about the miniPC!
What is your favorite feature of the Esprimo Q1510?
Energy efficiency, system noise, compact shape and light weight...
THIS IS THE FINAL CALL! You have five more days to gain points and be part of the Top10! Please remember! We only count comments, that respond to the given tasks or/and add valuable content for the other readers!
Thanks to One Living Room Insider Szymon we gonna start the final fun task for this project. We are looking for some funny demonstrations:
What not to do with the ESPRIMO?
Please upload only pictures that are made by yourself and that are linked to the given task! We won't count pictures, which do not match with the asked criteria.
The whole world is watching - the magic of the opening match of the FIFA World Cup tonight. South Africa vs Mexico.
What about you? Do you watch the match with your friends and your ESPRIMO at home or do you prefer Public Viewing? How do you get prepared for this special moment?
Have fun and enjoy the first matchs of this tournament!
The ESPRIMO Q1510 has just won the test of the swedish PC magazine "PC FÖR ALLA" ! Here is the review:
POWERFUL & FRESH FROM FUJITSU
Inside The FUJITSU ESPRIMO Q1510 we find Core i3, the entry-cpu in Intel's new processor series. But it is meant to directly match the Core 2 duo and eventually phase it out from the market, so it is not a bad CPU we are dealing with. ESPRIMO Q1510 runs with Intel's integrated graphics GMA HD and four gigabytes of DDR3 memory. Together with the much larger Shuttle computer, this is by far the fastest computer in the test, and in performance per kg is the absolutely unbeatable. It is almost as small as the Mac Mini and as well as Dell Zino HD it can be delivered with an upper surface in a variety of colors, patterns and motifs.
Combining Core i3 and new Intel graphics gives Esprimo Q1510 best 3D performance in the test, and games that are not too heavy graphics can easily be enjoyed. How about playing World of Warcraft in the sofa in front of giant TV instead of you crouching over your desk? It is really excellent, especially if you take it easy on graphics effects. What then happens then is that an almost aggressive cooling goes ahead and raises a small jet engine to life. But it might not interfere as much when you're busy beating troll’s into bits and pieces. However, we do not believe that the computer can handle upscaling of DVD video to HD size as good as Asus, Dell and Apple, running Nvidia and ATI graphics. It looks decent, but for a 10 000 SEK machine, we feel it does not quite fit the price tag. True positive is, however, that it is nearly silent as DVD players. A muffled, almost inaudible buzz is all it makes when playing a DVD or Blu-rayfilm.
Positive: Good performance. Small and compact. Blu-ray. Negative: At times noisy. Some problems with upscaling. High price.
There had been another very interesting question about the different processor types. Here is the answer from Cornelia Kühling:
What is the difference between ESPRIMO Qs Core i3 processor vs Core2Duo or vs Atom?
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor is more or less the predecessor of the Intel® Core™ i3. Both focus on performance but still with good energy efficiency. Intel® Core™ i3 is the latest processor and therefore it offers the most performance vs the Core™ 2 Duo or the Intel® Atom™.
Intel® Atom™ is designed for price sensitive buyer an its perfect e.g. for browsing the web. But Intel® Atom™ has not the performance of a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo and of course not of the Intel® Core™ i3 which was built into the ESPRIMO Q1510.
You are all invited to design your personal ESPRIMO-Cover and within create the first One Living Room-Skin as a joined venture!
Here are the facts for the needed data:
Size: 165mm x 168mm, max. 300 DPI
Style: RGB Colors
FILE: JPG with the maximum quality or TIFF or PNG
Please send your design to: support@one-livingroom.com
The deadline is Sunday, 13 of June, 23:59h.
We will assemble your works and proudly present the first "One Living Room"- ESPRIMO-Skin featured by the 20 One Living Room Insiders next week. Of course every participant will get the Skin afterwards. So show us your Design-Skills!
Finally the last bunch of answers to your questions about the ESPRIMO. This time in a video. Thanks a lot to Cornelia Kühling, Product Manager ESPRIMO Q, for this special support. You'll find more infos on the Face2Fujitsu Blog.
ESPRIMO is connected to the TV via HDMI. I've set the resolution to 1920x1080 but the desktop doesn't fit into the monitor. I have to scale it using Intel software but it isn't as clear as without scaling. I installed the video drivers from the CD provided in the package but it didn't change it at all. Any suggestions?
If this problem persists, just leave describe the problem to support@one-livingroom.com.
Can i use the remote control to control other media-center-solutions beside windows? Our RF remote is qualified as a pure MCE solution acc. to MS standards. So all codes given from the USB dongle receiver to the system are following the corresponding MS specification. If these other media-center-solutions are following the MS spec regarding these codes, it would work. In fact – without knowing anything about this other media-center-solutions – we’d expect some basic functions could work, but no full function.
Will there be the chance to make another remote control work for my ESPRIMO, too?
In principle you can use any type of Win7 / MCE compatible remote/receiver combo (IR or RF). Of course the ESPRIMO is tested with the bundled remote only. But there is no chance to combine the Fujitsu USB dongle receiver with another remote as the RF communication between receiver and remote is proprietary.
I would love to control TV, Receiver and ESPRIMO with just one remote control.
Remotes for TV/Receiver and Audio devices are working with IR transmission with the known restrictions of range and line of sight. The ESPRIMO Q1510 remote is working with 2.4 GHz RF transmission which offers a longer operation range and no need of free line of sight between remote and system. If you want to control your ESPRIMO and your TV/Audio equipment with only one remote you need a pure IR or a IR/RF combo solution for TV/Audio and PC (including separate receiver for the PC).
What about a battery like in notebooks. Would that be possible? Then it could get portable with an usb monitor. For this usage scenario, we would recommend a thin and light notebook ;-)
Secondly, it would be real nice if the ESPRIMO had a laptop -like bag so you could pack it neatly for carrying around. Thanks for your feedback, we' ll discuss this as an idea for our products. Btw for business customers we already offer this kind of backpack solution.
Your questions answered by Cornelia Kühling (Product Manager ESPRIMO Q) and Daniel Klaus (Marketing Manager) More answers will be available shortly on the Face2Fujitsu Blog.
Design
What was your design inspiration? Did you just have some general guide lines to aim for (size, colors etc.) or did the design team have more freedom with the design?
The challenge is always to create an unique product with strong appeal and character by staying in the borders of our corporate design governance and guidelines. The products have to show and transport the FUJITSU brand values, but the design theme and orientation is focused on our customers’ needs and requirements. These have been the different design options:
Was there ever the idea of making the Fujitsu symbol glowing, known from Mac Computers as seen in the picture?
Of course illumination is an important and nice issue. But in this case, a glowing product would cause more irritations in use than creating additional appeal. Being positioned normally closely to the TV set, additional lighting would be a disadvantage and not be accepted by our users.
Thanks for your creative input of our first Elevator Pitch! It wasn't easy for us to appoint the winner, but the clip of One Living Room Insider Netbuzzr finally convinced us....Congratulations from the whole One Living Room-Team!

"An elevator pitch or elevator speech is a short, persuasive description of a person, organization or group, or an idea for a product, service, or project.
The name "elevator pitch" reflects the idea that it should be possible to deliver an elevator pitch in the time span of an elevator rides from ground floor to the top of a building."
So imagine: You meet the marketing chef of Fujitsu in the elevator. You have 30 seconds to convince him, why you have to keep the ESPRIMO Q1510 after the project! Show him your creativity, why do you need the ESPRIMO Q1510 in your Living Room?

ESPRIMO goes Multimedia. One Living Room Insider Netbuzzr was testing the ESPRIMO Q1510 in the field of Multimedia!
His review:
"Surfing and watching videos on YouTube is great fun with the ESPRIMO, as you don't have to watch it on a very tiny monitor!"
As Netbuzzr is also a PS3-User, he rendered his personal comparison:
"The ESPRIMO is running much more silent than the PS3. Another convenience of the ESPRIMO is the possibility that you are able to switch easily to the Internet while watching a movie. I really prefer the ESPRIMO in the fields of multimedia to the PS3! "
Netbuzzr suggestion of improvement for the miniPC:
A TV-card that allows recording movies in HD-quality!
@all Insiders: Do you think a TV-card would be a great upgrade for the next generation of the ESPRIMO? Do you have any others suggestions of improvement? Tell us in a comment..
