So guys... I have to make a statement:
The contest is almost finished and first I wanted to say thanks to the OLR-team (especially Verena :P) for this program. The last three weeks with this device were very funny. I had fun living out my technical abilities on the Esprimo. I wrote blogs made videos and pictures. And of course I used one of the best devices I got in the last years.
We had (still have) a hot contest here and I saw many nice videos and pictures and read interesting blog entries.
But I have to say: SORRY! In the last weeks we had a real fight about the points and I also posted mass of pictures. Everybody wanted points and the situation made us all posting excessively to be one of the 10 people who are allowed to keep this nice device!
But I have to make a conclusion with this. I will stop posting here that excessively because it doesn't make sense anymore. It stole too much of my time and I saw that we became animals! Of course I am an important role and I want to say again Sorry that I participated in this story!
But yesterday I realized what I (we) did! The contest "Don't...." started funny. We posted multiple pictures and I had fun reading your ideas. But now look. There are almost 200 entries and some people just post the same things again which were already posted. I don't think anymore that this is the sense of the project. I also posted those buttons (which were actually SPAM, I know). But Verena contacted me and then I realized what I did.
So I don't want to point on any person because you should realize that by yourself!
And again: I AM SORRY! It was also my fault because I participated in this spamming. But maybe we calm down a little bit and don't post every crap we just find.
So I will calm down and just post sometimes. Maybe you follow me, maybe you continue. Do whatever you want...

Size: This cute litte thing is so small that you can place it almost everywhere!
Color: The color is timeless. It fits to almost everything. You can show your ESPRIMO and don't need to be ashamed. :)
Blu-ray: BLU-RAY!!! :) The new HD technology just inside here. I am so happy to have a Blu-ray player now.
Specs: i3, 4GB RAM and 500GB RAM. That's almost a full computer. It provides real POWER and space!
Energy: My room is full of electronic devices. But with this Green-IT certified device I have a better mind. And I save money!
Windows 7: That's a full OS. Fully compatible to all applications!
So all in all, I am extremely satisfied. I never had a media pc before. Now i have an extremly high standard :D

"Voice" is a word with multiple meanings. So for what a voice button on your remote? Well you could actually call it voice control. You press the button and say anything and your TV just performs it. :)

That's my personal wish. Often I watch TV and want a snack. But that means to stand up and search for a snack. With this button you don't have this situations anymore. You just press it and on your TV you can see a selection of snacks. Just choose your favorite and your seat / couch serves it! :P

Well, I have different opportunities. :)
In my livingroom I have a 52" LCD-TV with HDTV via SAT. :)
In my sleeping room I have a 22" LCD with HDTV via IPTV. :P
But my favorite is public viewing!
I like it to be with people and have fun with them. The atmosphere is very nice and everybody is happy (or sad :P). The weather is nice and you can show your feelings for the national team.
The emotions are very nice and you can "share the moment". That's just cool and fantastic!

Well I normally watch via IPTV. That's Live TV via Internet. For that I own a receiver which also includes PVR etc.
It's quiet nice because you can watch multiple channels at one time (depending on your line). Usually I record something while watching somethin else. That's pretty cool. :)

How about an "Favorite Time" button?
You check the TV EPG and suddenly you see that you missed a show or that it's upcoming but very late. So with the remote you can change time and see this show directly <3
Of course you can also use a reality remote like the one in Click. It has some very nice features but as you saw in the movie it can be very dangerous! :D

szymon: It depends on the configuration you order! It starts at 555€ but ours costs 799€. ;)
Of course it is a high price. But this is a computer. If you only want to watch movies from USB you can buy a device like WD HD Live. But if you need Blu-ray and USB media support like a computer it's getting expensive...
Maybe there are some parts which can be produced a litte bit cheaper. But quality has its price so every consumer which takes care of quality knows that he has to pay a litte bit more...

The noise problem:
They are right. Sometimes I watch HD Stream of NHL and then the fan gets very loud because of the flash player.
The problem is that the flash player takes many ressources.
The same problem occured while gaming. It got very noisy for a short time but I thought this wouldn't happen again.
But that's normal. A computer has to protect itself by turning on the fan. :)
The overscan problem is not always the TV. Sometimes it's the graphic card but those problem occur on every graphic card in some constellations. ;)

@RobertGrinde: I already posted this logo and told why it's not printed on the ESPRIMO.
The FULL HD logo which you posted is designed for FULL HD camcorders and FULL HD televisions. ;)
For displays there are also the black / white logos like the one in this post.
For computers there is actually no offical badge for playing Full HD media. ;)
But Fujitsu could create an own badge which displays the ability to play Full HD media :)

No, we are talking about businessmen!
They would only take one of those remotes to their meeting. A universal remote would be too big so they need a small one for presentations only ;)
Currently I can live with our remote. Outside of Media Center you can change the volume. But I already installed some codecs and filters and use MCE only to watch movies or hear music on my ESPRIMO.
And why Bluetooth? Infrared is cheaper. ;)
So the powerpoint remote was not suggested for the Q1510 it was suggested for the Q9000 which is a business system ;)

The idea with the AutoUpdater sounds great but there is still the question if the majority needs those applications. ;)
Usually people are disturbed by pre-installed software because for them it looks like advertisement and not like a feature.
This is why pre-installation of software is almost "dangerous" for the image. :P
But Fujitsu could provide a website with an overview:
People can suggest new software. They can comment it and rate them. This would be really nice. :)

Instead of password protection you should be able to protect your files with a fingerpringt sensor. I don't know if it should be installed locally or on a keyboard but it would be a nice feature :)
It's also easier to login with your fingerprint instead of typing it in every time!

- Browser: As you maybe remeber there was / is a big fight between Microsoft and the EU because of the browsers. Fujitsu shouldn't pre-install more browsers than windows does. ;)
- IrfanView: Not every person uses this software (for example me) ;)
- Adobe Reader: If Fujitsu gets a license they could pre-install it.
- Java: As already mentioned it's all about the license
- Flash player: NO! People should download it themselves because then they always install the newest version. :P
- Latest drivers: Afair all drivers were already included.
- VLC: Nice idea but many people prefer other software so that everbody wants something other.
The list is very nice but not very suitable for all users. ;)

But if you think about it it's very hard to find real usage for that!
Usually the ESPRIMO is placed somewhere with the TV. So you have to stand up and go to the ESPRIMO to use it.
The other point is that the energy usage of this panel would be big. This may annoy users and is of course important for "Green-IT". ;)

Another idea for ESPRIMO Q9000:
Intelligent hard drives. :)
HP uses a technology called 3D DriveGuard. It uses a new technology for hard drives. As you maybe know the iPhone for example uses hardware sensors to detect if it's rotated or not.
DriveGuard uses this technology on hard drives. It detects it's own status and if it suddenly recognizes that it's dropping it turns off so that the data is not lost.
That's very important for businessmen isn't it?

Hm.. A LCD-panel on ESPRIMO would take away place which is actually essential..
The other problem is that you usually place your ESPRIMO somewhere behind your TV or a similar place. So not many people would have a real usage for that.
And it would take energy... And the Green-IT badge has its own sense :P

HP for example provides a software which allows you to protect your whole system in multiple ways.
If a businessman takes the ESPRIMO with him it may happen that it get's stolen or lost. He shouldn't be feared then!

About TV-tuner: There are multi-standard tuners (PAL / NTSC) which can be used in europe and USA. So why not a special model for those regions?
Sorry, but Internet streaming is currently not a real solution. Live TV IS different and people will watch it. So you need to find a solution for that. ;)

I had this problem, too.. Just turn it off. Take out power. Press about 10 seconds on power button (nothing will happen, just count). Then power on again and wait. When boot is finished try to insert the DVD!
This problem occured one time but I don't know why :(

The space is no problem but some users had problems with the distance. So you can't use an extension cord anymore. But technically you could just combine the receivers :)

You need a Full HD certificate. Of course you can not use the official badge because it is for TVs only, but you could create a badge which shows that the ESPRIMO is able to playback full HD media :)

I think you should check the Blu-ray drive again. It has some problems with scratching discs which may be disturbing to some users.
About the usual volume: That is a physical "problem". But if you are some meters away from the drive and it works properly you don't really hear the usual noise :)

There are multiple ways:
- To have full control you need a VNC server installed on the ESPRIMO. So you can use open source software "TightVNC" and an free iPhone App with VNC support. There are some in App Store!
- For media control there are some other apps which only provide multimedia control. But for multimedia you can use the remote of ESPRIMO. :P
So controlling the ESPRIMO with iPhone out-of-the-box could look like this:
- On first boot of ESPRIMO it asks you if you want to install a VNC server which allows you to control the ESPRIMO from outside. Then you can set up a password for VNC access
- In App Store there is a free app which only works with ESPRIMO computers. It provides full VNC support.

For a real "gamer" the ESPRIMO is not the right choice.
Real graphics need space and air! The ESPRIMO would burn!
If you want to sell this for gaming then you need a big graphic card with an own fan. And this wouldn't fit in the small casing.
Just check the picture: It's an GeForce GTS 250 (which is actually an relabeled 9800GTX+). Even this graphic card is low-segment.
So currently you can already play games like Counter Strike. I made a video about it:

I can also test games like Call of Duty if someone wants it. But I don't think that there is a real chance that it will work very smooth.

My living room is perfect, because it is full of the newest electronics.
My receiver supplies me with TV and PVR. It is run with IPTV and supports multiple recordings.
But my best "tech partner" is my ESPRIMO. It's a real nice mini computer which is really powerful! With Windows 7 Media Center my multimedia experience is perfect.
This device is extendable so that you are perfectly equipped for the future. :)

Hello, I think you don't know me. I am a tester of your new ESPRIMO Q1510 and I think I deserve it to keep the ESPRIMO. I am a pro at technology, I own a HD cam and I already tested the device in multiple ways. My creativity always finds new things to test and to explore.

Sorry PONKKO but most TV tuners only support DVB-C (Cable). But for HD you often need a receiver even for cable. And for SAT costumers a TV card would be perfect. And I want to use my ESPRIMO to replace my other stuff.
But it is usual that HTPC's have tuners build in.
Of course everyone has his own needs but a TV card would make this product more attractive.
Becuase then people who need this are more interested to buy it.
My only worries are about the space a TV card needs. I don't know if the ESPRIMO has enough space for a TV card!

Of course I watch TV. Live sports in High Definition etc.
Currently I can watch all television channels which are run by the state via IPTV. But I also have SAT connection, so I will buy a DVB-S2 card if I am one of the 10 most active members. :)

netbuzzr: what? USB TV card is not a dedicated receiver! It's just a card which is connected to the computer. There you can use MediaCenter for example to receive TV. The card just has to support HD. So for SAT you need a DVB-S2 card. HD via DVB-T is not available currently.

Yeah thats a problem I also mentioned in my first impressions. ESPRIMO needs a TV card so that it can replace the receiver. It would be also a nice PVR. :)
