you are right, smejda - but in the end, i think the most insiders in the top ten deserve to be there, even if all the pics wouldn't count.

@Abas - nice statement, but you were the one who started this insanity.
And sure - there are posts with ideas someone posted before, but i can tell you two things about it: First of all there are hundreds of pics - u cannot control everything. While you look at all these pics, some other person take the chance to post 20 new ones meanwhile.
and second: there is no rule that your idea has to be unique, or am i wrong?
talking about rules, there is another thing.
you are violating the copyright rules to make points with pics you don't created.
As you can read in the one-living-room-rules:
"Rule #3: Do upload only content that you have created. Respect the copyright of others. This means don't steal photos or videos that other people have shared and pass them off as your own."
You did so - you cheated, just to keep the esprimo. That's not fair to the other 19 competitors.
Sorry, but you are the last one who has the right to teach the rules or to want us to stop posting pics...
Better be glad, that the esprimo-team didn't kick you out of the contest because of your cheating...

In my humble opinion the esprimo impresses me not just with a single feature - it is rather a mixture of several features.
First of all it is pretty small - the esprimo is completely different to my very old and very big desktop-pc. After that i have to mention the awesome design - fits perfect in my living room. It nearly makes no noise, which is of course important for a living room-device.
These all good points weren't worth a lot if the inner life of the esprimo wasn't good.
And this is why I think that the real advantage is: The esprimo is the perfect allrounder!
I can play Games (no highend-games, of course), can listen to my music, can playback dvds and even blu-rays, i can work with it or just surf the web. The chosen cpu is fast, the memory size is more than enough for most of these things I do every day and it fits perfect in my room. It's the perfect allrounder and i feel deepest sympathy to apple, because they today they started to offer the new mac mini - a mini device, which has less ports, less memory size and a poor cpu, and all this for an unabashedly price. Esprimo is the far better choise to me :)

i try to watch in another way now: i bought an zattoo-ticket (2 €/month) which let me see the high quality-content on zattoo.
have a look at the quality - in my opinion it's quite okay for internet tv via the esprimo :)

woohoo - lucky me. my boss was going around today, asking every single person about friday. friday at 13.30 h germany is about to play against serbia and of course most of us like to see the game.
For me it takes about an hour to get home so i have to leave work about 12 o'clock.
and my boss asked every one of us if we want to take off or if we want to leave earlier so we can see the game :D
now this means to me that i will arrive home in time to take a shower, put on the germany-shirt and the other black-red-golden-stuff and then run over to the "friedensplatz" which fortunately is just a few minutes to walk from my flat :)

where the translate-button isn't strong enough, this one comes in the game: the lie-button. you don't have to wonder if someone is lying at you. just press the button - and if it starts to glow red, you are just listening to a liar :)

while watching the boring game between japan and cameroun i often thought of a goal-button ;)

no public viewing for me yesterday, because i arrived to late to my hometown (after an awesome festival ;) )
So there was the opportunity to check out world-cup-feeling at home via the esprimo.
as you can see in the picture even the zdf-live-stream was quite okay. but to be honest, i actually prefer classical way. at least until i will sponsor a tv-stick to my little esprimo ;)

@Netbuzzr - wow, 50" is quite amazing. I just got my new one with "just" 42" - but it fits pretty well in my living-room :)
I was looking forward to this world cup for so long - 4 years long, to be more precise :D
In my hometown Dortmund they found a great location called "Friedensplatz" to celebrate the games with thousands of fans :)This year is a little different, because we don't have all the soccer-tourists in our land, but nevertheless we will rock the world cup :D
For me it will be a mixture of public viewing and watching it at home with friends. But there are more locations this time: Just tomorrow i will spend my time at a festival. I am not quite sure if there is a chance to watch the games, but believe me - i will find a solution ;)
And one day we are watching at a friend of mine - time to show the wide world to my little esprimo ;)

Woohoo - i can expand the esprimo up to 8gb memory size. that's quite a lot :) Maybe i should give it a try and install cubase on the esprimo. when i recorded music on my old pc there were many problems if i played back too many tracks at once. i hope that the esprimo can handle it far better. The only problem i see leads me to another question: What is about the onboard sound? can it handle music software like cubase, reason, ableton live and so on? For live recording it's very important to reach the lowest possible latency. can the onboard sound deal with it?

i also tried out farm- and fishville. little silly games that steal too much of my time - but what can i do? i am addicted ;)
In the pic u can see fishville. and because it's a little small even on such a huge tv, when you are sitting three metres away i tried a little trick: i just use the zoom-function of my browser to make the window bigger - and now i can take care of my farm and my fish while lying on the couch ;)

hmm, i don't think so, ABAS - Tweetdeck, Mixero, Seesmic, Twitter and so many more. Which app should find its way onto the esprimo and why? the apps are so small so you just have to go online and 1 minute later you're done with your fave app ;)

some of you mentioned the social media abilities of the esprimo and suggested pre-installed apps so you can handle facebook and twitter for example. i think, there is no need to deliver the device with pre-installed social media apps. look at the answers you gave. one prefers trillian, the next one tweetdeck - my favourite as you can see in the picture is digsby. digsby handles several e-mail-clients, different messengers like icq, msn, yahoo and the facebook-chat - and of course facebook-updates and twitter. so better there is no app on the esprimo - because every one prefers another one...and furthermore: more and more things happen online in the cloud, not on the desktop :)

It's good that Cornelia Kühling and Daniel Klaus helps us to see another point of view. For example i liked the idea of illumination the fujitsu-symbol or use lights for this ambilight-effect, but it's absolutely right: if there would be another light ressource near the tv it could disturb the tv-experience.
btw i have no probs with scratched dvds or blu-rays but another little problem: the esprimo - or the media center sometimes has problems to recognize the source. after ejecting the disc and trying again it works most times.
Whatever - i am really looking forward to getting more answers from the fujitsu-experts :)

You asked for my opinion about the "little Q" so i can tell it to you in just one short phrase: I'm really overwhelmed :)
First I thought of never wanting such a small device - not even for my living room. But some days of testing the Q1510 changed my mind :)
I don't miss a tv-card too badly, because i will be going to buy a tv-stick if the esprimo will find his home in here. My number one-feature of my first test-days until now: Watching Blu-Rays of course - and watching hd-content on youtube. It's so awesome to lie comfortably on the couch and start the discs with the remote control. it's really the first time, that the windows media center makes sense to me ;)

Two ideas, one solution: First point: Sometimes I need a little kick in the butt to keep myself active.
Second points: I want to point the readers on my blog to the esprimo-articles i write in these days. So here is the solution - another header and a new widget. Easy to find for my readers AND for myself ;)
This is how i try to kill two birds with one stone ;)

@Smejda - i am with Abas in this point: it wouldn't be a good idea to sell it without any operating systems.
the esprimo is a special device for the living room. so i think u can expect "normal" users to buy it. they want to do exactly the things we check out in these days: surfing the web, play some games - but first of all they will try to watch hd-movies and -television, listen to the music. i guess, most of these people don't want to spend hours and hours with installing or configuring a specific operating system: they just want to hit the button and enjoy :) So in my opinion it would be enough to deliver the esprimo with a pretty small os like android os :)

@AbaS - good point to combine the dongles. but how about implementing the infrared transmitters? so no dongle would be needed any longer and there are two more usb-ports to use...
it isn't that big or am i wrong? so there should be a little space left to implement infrared. if not the esprimo could be a little taller - now it is 57mm and for example 65mm should also work :)

are there plans for alternative operating systems? i guess google has great ideas to blur the boundaries between internet and television, so the google OS/android OS should fit perfect for the livingroom-device called esprimo

First of all: The other competitors of the one living room-contest made some good points in here. Most of the questions in my mind I found here in the other comments and i am really looking forward to getting the answers to it ;) But of course there are some questions left.
First a question which propably one of the techies in here can answer: can i use the remote control to control other media-center-solutions beside windows? And will there be the chance to make another remote control work for my esprimo, too? I would love to control TV, Receiver and Esprimo with just one remote control - on my couch is only one place left for another person, because every space is full of remote controls :D
And are there plans for implementing usb 3.0 in a newer version, maybe in q1520 or something?

for the german readers: i just wrote an article for basicthinking.de about the future of the pc. i mentioned the esprimo as a reason that the personal computer will survive the next years of course - in a new, more stylish dress ;)

Woohoo - my Esprimo finally arrived :D It was kinda hard, because I wasn't at home when DHL brought this precious little thing to me. Most times they try to deliver wares the other day or ask me to get it at the post office, but not today: I found a message that one of my neighbours was so kind to receive the esprimo.
Of course i immediately tried to get my Q1510, but the good guy wasn't there and so it was when i tried it for a second and a third time. Did i mention, that this guy is living in the 4th floor? =)
So, after this little stairs-workout i finally met him and he gave this package to me.
It is late at night now, i unboxed the Esprimo and be sure that there will be some pictures for you tomorrow :)
