I would like to thank the project team and naturally the fellow insiders. Also I would like to say congrats to Fujitsu for creating such an innovative machine for our livingrooms. I really enjoyed all this eventhough it became bit stressfull at times. This was great fun for the whole family. :)

    And the final observation:
Casi has a point there. I really enjoyed the part "what will you do if I get MY ESPRIMO" as it clearly stated that only the first 10 pictures will be counted from everyone. This way people have time to think it over what they will be uploading and the quality of pictures will go up a lot.

    I really hate these 12 hour clocks. 11:59am is 11:59 in 24h clock? So... 00:01pm is 12:01 in 24h clock? And 11:59pm is then 23:59? :)

It is really hard to find just one feature. I believe the real strength of the ESPRIMO platform is the fact that it does so many things right. Everything is well balanced - you can watch HD videos, use the latest media formats and means of storage, play even the latest games (exclude the most demanding 3D), connect via wires or without them, edit videos & photos etc.

For me... I like the styling a lot. I belive this must have been a difficult decision from Fujitsu to make as the more bold lines or brighter colors would have brought the unit more visible on the livingroom but I'm happy that they chose to use mode toned down approach.

But in the end, the well balanced "package" is what makes the Q1510 so wonderfull. :)

So, no football fans here. For some reason my whole family is not that interested about football. We all were part of a football club when we were kids and enjoyed to play the game but for no it has lost its interest. I believe one reason must be Finland's poor success in football in past years.

Hockey is totally different thing. We haven't played it as kids so perhaps it is only natural that we love to watch it via TV. :) For us finns the hockey has been more or less a national sport (who cares about finnish baseball (pesäpallo)) and thus we are keen followers of any such event. It was too bad that we didn't win a medal in the world championships but there is always a next year.

Btw. is it customary to be bitter rivals with your nabouring country? I mean Finland ans Sweden competes in almost every sport. Is this the same with other countries in EU?

And how is this related to ESPRIMO Q1510?

I used the actual cardboard that the ESPRIMO was delivered to me to create this template for my new arcade controller/machine. "Using what you have" is a green way to think. :)

Also, the Esprimo could be the machine that will be running all the games that I plan to play with this controller once its finished.

Shot from our living room. ESPRIMO Q1510 does a good job and hides from view almost completely. This also shows how much equipment it can replace. From this, we could remove the old XBOX that we have used to stream movies, the Western Digital WD TV Live that also served the same purpose and naturally the DVD player can be thrown out. Perhaps even the Xbox360 too as we don't play that much with it any more. ;)

For what its worth, I would like to remind people that it is "bad" to use copyrighted images from the internet without permission in your posts. Most of us have cameras to take photos and there are several public domain sites on the net to use the photos from so please, use them and not violate the copyrights of others. You people are creative, show that creativity and productivity in a positive way. Show what you can do with those legal photo editors and get points for that. ;)

I don't try to be that "old man" telling what should do and not to do but this little competition amongst the insiders seems to bring the worst out of people.

Question: As the Q1510 is so packed with some of the latest technologies, was something left out? Did you have some "thing" that you would have wanted to put inside the ESPRIMO but couldn't find the space for it? Will there be follow-up models that will have that "something"?

And the questions and suggestions... Would it be possible to add more options to the controller side of business? I mean something like I added as an image within this question. There are other options like iPhone applications or universal remote controllers but not that many have an iPhone and universal remotes are quite expensive. Perhaps these too would work as an option but this kind of controller with an integrated touchpad would be a very cost effect solution (~30 euros) and would offer all the functionality than a separate mouse and keyboard have - only in a much smaller package. No need to have a dedicated coffee table for your keyboard anymore.

Oh, hi Clive! How is your wife? Nice, nice... Btw, I have a cunning plan on start using your ESPRIMO Q1510 as baseline for all our small system reviews. You know that there will be other manufacturers that will try to copy you success and the ESPRIMO Q1510 would be a perfect system to compare these systems against. With the unit sitting in our living room we could benchmark it over and over again with the latest software, take photos with other systems etc. and when the ESPRIMO Q1510 is not "working", my family and I can enjoy all the media we want with it. The opportunities would be nearly endless. A real Win-Win for all of us, you agree?! Great, I knew you would see it my way. Thanks. :)

Abas: There is not that much space and more importantly, there are no suitable connectors to attach the module/card to. Fujitsu could use something attached to an internal USB port but as it is now, there are none of those available either.

netbuzzr: Yes, intended to play high definition media but again, why mix TV channels to this? Most of the TVs that one can buy today have HD tuners build in. You can get cheap PVRs with HD tuners and you can then easily replace them if the broadcasting standards etc. change or you need some other functionality that the older model does not support. This is why I stated that one can always can an external HD TV tuner to Esprimo if needed.

I'm not sure if the point of this whole topic was to ask if they should embed the tuner inside the unit or does a HTPC need a tuner in the first place. I just state that there is no need for built-in solution. This would increase the power need, add more heat buildup inside the case and add more connectors to the already crowded back side. :)

But again, everyone has their own needs. I don't say that my situation is the same for everyone. I'm just stating that there are so much HD content offered via Blu-ray and Internet that one just does not need (if you don't want) to record their own material via a TV network.

I personally don't find a need for a tuner in the Esprimo. I hate products that try to do everything as if the product fails on one of the departments, the whole product loses a lot of appeal. The whole idea of PC was the fact that it is modular.

I like to see the same idea applied to home entertainment these days. You can get the TV you want, the PVR you like, sound system from modules that you know works the best etc. You can always add a tuner stick to the ESPRIMO if you need a PVR this way. I prefer to get a separate PVR with just the features that I need. Like others pointed out already, the Internet is full of multimedia content that one can use without a tuner and this is the way I like to use my media too.
